Vermont School District Supports

District Leads

It is recommended that districts with more than ten GrowVT-Ed Participants have both a school-based mentor and a district lead for portfolio support. District Leads will work directly with Dr. Juliette Longchamp and other GrowVT-Ed faculty. The idea is to blanket these new educators with much support in order to accelerate their learning as educators which will lead to stronger outcomes for their students.

Curriculum Directors

Curriculum Directors in districts with GrowVT-Ed Participants are important partners in the GrowVT-Ed Program. For many GrowVT-Ed Participants, they have been granted provisional licenses by the Vermont Agency of Education allowing them to teach while they are building knowledge and skills for their content areas. Curriculum Directors will support GrowVT-Ed Participants in their districts in numerous ways depending on the needs of the participants.

GrowVT-Ed grew from a request by the Vermont Rural Education Collaboration (NEK Curriculum Directors) to support the growing number of teachers hired on provisional licenses.

Below are representing school districts/supervisory unions of GrowVT-Ed Participants and the district contacts. We highly recommend districts with over ten participants also have a district lead to support the participants through the year including attending seminars and providing in-district support.
